Vimpex was proud to present the Healthier Firefighters Award for Excellence in Contaminants and Decontamination to West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service (WYFRS). The award formed part of the Excellence in Fire and Emergency Awards 2025, held on Friday 5th December in London.
WYFRS has shown exceptional leadership and innovation in firefighter health and safety, delivering targeted initiatives to reduce exposure to contaminants and carcinogens across both operational and training environments. Through the rollout of clean cab appliances, world-class PPE, station zoning, and specialist equipment-cleaning facilities, the service has set a new national benchmark for best practice.
These achievements not only protect the health of firefighters today but also strengthen the safety and resilience of future fire and rescue operations, perfectly embodying the values of the Healthier Firefighter Award.
