We were excited to join the Vehicle Heavy Rescue – UKRO CPD Event, hosted by Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue Service at Waddington Training Centre recently. The day brought together rescue professionals from across the UK for a collaborative, scenario-based learning experience focused on real-world heavy vehicle incidents.

Hands-On Learning for Real-World Incidents
During the session, participants worked with a range of specialist equipment commonly used in heavy rescue situations, including:
- Vehicle stabilisation kits capable of handling loads up to 40,000 lbs, helping limit load shift during complex rescues.
- Hydraulic struts designed to safely stabilise vehicles and structures with high load capacities and secure locking systems.
- Air lifting bags able to lift, move or shift heavy loads up to 89 tons, enabling safe casualty access in demanding situations.
By working through realistic rescue scenarios, attendees built confidence and sharpened their skills in handling complex heavy vehicle incidents with a casualty-focused approach.
Collaboration Across the Rescue Community
It was great to collaborate with partners across the sector and support a CPD session that strengthens operational capability and teamwork within the rescue community. Events like these ensure that responders stay up to date with the latest techniques, equipment and best practices, ultimately improving outcomes for casualties and crews alike.
