The system is designed to be modular, separated into five component classes: shores, extensions, bases, braces and connectors. Each component class is cross compatible allowing wood shoring system levels of flexibility, but at much higher strengths and with less tooling all with virtually no pre-deployment measuring and calculation. The system was even designed to be compatible with wood strongbacks and bracing, using rubber pads to absorb flex in the hull as wooden shoring does. Paratech DCS provides superior axial compression strength and huge increases in side load strength over wood shoring. Mechanical damage control shoring has made significant strides since its introduction, with Paratech continuing to push its design into the 21st century.
